A workplace campaign energizes your workplace, strengthens your team, and creates a sense of community. Your team can participate through unique experiential learning, networking, leadership development, volunteerism, events, impact speakers, tours, product drives and donations, and philanthropic giving to strengthen your organization’s role in creating a better community.
Each year, more than 240 workplaces across North Western Ontario run their own United Way employee giving campaigns. These campaigns inspire donors and volunteers to support our community’s most vulnerable, including those living in poverty, and raise much-needed funds that benefit children, families, and seniors.
As businesses and organizations continue to reopen, we know that workplaces will operate differently for some time. Understanding that everyone’s needs may be different, our 2023 Workplace Campaigns will operate as a hybrid, providing both virtual and in-person options to ensure running your employee campaign is convenient.
Solicitation for payroll pledges and one-time donations can take place between April 1st and December 31st.
Special Events and Engagement Opportunities can be run year-round. Special Event money must be submitted by December 31st for anyone who required a tax receipt.
Please express your interest in running an online campaign this year by reaching out to Patti Defeo at pdefeo@uwaytbay.ca
The United Way’s Sponsored Employee Program gives community minded employers an excellent opportunity to make an investment in strengthening our community. By loaning one of your employees to participate in this program, you’re making an investment in your employee, enhancing your workplace and assisting the United Way in achieving its community impact goals.
Sponsored Employees (SEs) benefit from a unique professional development experience. Employees bring increased community knowledge and a better understanding of corporate social responsibility when they return to your workplace.
For more information on how your company can register for the Sponsored Employee Program, please contact us at 807-623-6420.
Workplace campaigns are a way for employees to support the United Way of Thunder Bay and have fun as a team while doing it! We honour the most generous workplaces every year. Thank you for taking action and caring about your community!
