People across our city and region, including your own friends and neighbours, have been deeply affected by COVID-19.

Individuals and families who were already experiencing #UNIGNORABLE issues of poverty continue to face overwhelming challenges. People are struggling to put food on the table. Paying rent is a daily worry for many and now – Christmas is coming.

With winter looming and cases on the rise, people and families are going to need your help more than ever. That’s why we are asking you to SHOW YOUR LOCAL LOVE and give generously to help ensure no need goes unmet.

Make a donation to the United Way RECOVER 2020 campaign today.

The United Way of Thunder Bay RECOVER 2020 campaign is focused on supporting the immediate needs of local people and families. It’s about neighbours helping neighbours and community supporting community.

We cannot do this alone; we must recover together as a community.

Help the most vulnerable as our
community recovers together.

Many local people could not prepare for how COVID-19 has affected their lives. The United Way of Thunder Bay has launched the RECOVER 2020 campaign to help local people and the community to get back on track. Our campaign will provide essential support to front-line agencies and partners to help ensure that people’s basic needs are met in the coming months ahead. Get involved by donating, volunteering or participating in an event or workplace campaign.

Your donation stays 100% local, always.

Emergency Community Support Fund – Round 2

As Covid-19 continues to have a disproportionate impact on vulnerable populations in Canada, the Government of Canada’s $350 million Emergency Community Support Fund (ECSF) aims to help charities and non-profit organizations adapt and increase frontline services for vulnerable populations during COVID-19.

United Way of Thunder Bay in collaboration with the Thunder Bay Community Foundation was pleased to administer a vital first round investment of $985,308 by the Government of Canada in critical services for vulnerable people in our region to date.

We are pleased to support an additional investment of $318,533 for our region through this second round of emergency funding from the Government of Canada.

Organizations providing front-line services to vulnerable populations impacted by COVID-19 are eligible to apply, including registered charities, and other qualified donees. Applications will open on October 5th and will end on October 30, 2020 at 3 pm.
