United Way of Thunder Bay announces $10,000 matching gift incentive from Home Hardware

In the spirit of the season, the Memorial Home Hardware family in Thunder Bay has announced they will be matching all donations to United Way of Thunder Bay, dollar-for-dollar, up to $10,000 between now and December 31st.

This opportunity is being presented in response to United Way’s annual year end appeal, requesting final donations from supporters before the end of the year.

This year, United Way asked supporters, “What does community mean to you?” and the Sauer family answered.

Chris, Shannon, Jordan and Justin Sauer, the family behind the Memorial Home Hardware Building Centre in Thunder Bay, are long-standing supporters of many non-profits and community organizations in Thunder Bay, and it is their Home Hardware family that motivates their giving.

As Shannon noted, “We really are a family here at Home Hardware, and at this time of year we want to help give other families in our community the chance to thrive. The United Way of Thunder Bay helps provide those opportunities to adults and children in our community.”

Chris added, “With this matching dollar incentive, our Home Hardware family hopes to inspire other families and individuals to give as best they can before the end of the year.”

This year’s campaign focuses on creating stronger neighbourhoods where everyone has a chance to feel like they belong.

Albert Brulé, CEO of United Way Thunder Bay shared, “During the festive season, we are deeply touched by the remarkable generosity of our community. Contributions from caring individuals, families, and businesses truly make a significant impact. The chance to double the impact of these gifts through Memorial Home Hardware’s matching gift initiative will greatly enhance our ability to support children, families, and seniors who may be struggling during the holidays.”

Any donation received between December 15 and December 31 will be matched up to $10,000.
