Plane Pull is BACK!

IT’S OUR 5TH ANNIVERSARY!!

The United Way of Thunder Bay and Wasaya Airways are proud to announce the return of the Wasaya – United Way Plane Pull on Saturday, September 23, 2023 in support of the United Way of Thunder Bay and the Northwestern Ontario Indigenous Youth Achievement and Recognition Awards!

Get ready for the ultimate tug-of-war challenge and test your team’s strength. Teams will race to pull a plane weighing MORE THAN 26,000 lbs. over 50 feet and the fastest time will win!

Each team can have up to 8 members, however, only 6 can pull the plane at a time so you can rotate team members out for different pulls. Each team will have three turns at pulling the plane.

After round three, all times will be added up and teams will be split into divisions and the top two in each division will showdown in one final pull.

The goal…to pull an airplane across the finish line in the fastest time.

This one-day event brings together participants in a friendly competition while raising funds for important programs and events.

Date: Saturday September 23rd
Cost: $200 per team – Includes a swag bag, lunch for each participant & chance to win awesome prizes
Event Time: 10am – 3pm (team check in begins at 9:30am)

Which team will walk away with this year’s champion title for fastest pull? Registration Fee is $200 per team plus a team commitment to fundraise $800 or more with prizes for our top fundraisers!

There are only 11 Team slots available so don’t delay!

Minimum age to participate is 14 years old.

• Division Team Champions

After three pulls, the teams will be split into divisions based on time. The top two in each division face off for one final pull to crown the winners!

• Most Spirited Team

Themes & Costumes are encouraged! The Team with the most spirit will win!

• Top Individual Fundraiser

The top fundraiser will be acknowledged and awarded!

• Participant Door Prize

Just for being a participant, your name will go into our random participant draws!

All participants have the chance to win a Yellow 10.9-inch iPad Wi‑Fi 64GB (Value $600) for fundraising!

For every $50 you raise in fundraising dollars, you get a ballot entered in to win the iPad.
(example: $50 = 1 ballot, 1 chance to win $100 = 2 ballots, 2 chances to win….etc.!)
