Our new Community Impact Plan has three core goals to help lift local people out of poverty. The focus is to bring Thunder Bay together to address the root causes and impacts of poverty; to build a more inclusive and connected community; and to support all children and youth to succeed in school.

Thunder Bay Counts is a community collaboration to improve quality of life and ensure that all people have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

211 Ontario North

211 provides free, multilingual access to information & referrals to the full range of community, social, health and government services.

Diversity Counts

“Diversity Counts” is a community engagement project that the United Way of Thunder Bay facilitates through funding from the Inspirit Foundation.

Cross-Sector Collaboration Forum

To help foster collective action, in November 2019, the United Way of Thunder Bay, the Lakehead Social Planning Council, and the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce partnered to host the Thunder Bay Cross-Sector Collaboration Forum, which included more than 100 individuals from various backgrounds including municipal government, non-profit organizations, the business community various groups and agencies, as well as individual community members. The vision was for these individuals to collectively create goals that would improve lives and build a healthier, more inclusive, prosperous community for all.
