Show Your Local Love Day is Extended Until Friday!

Intercity Industrial Supply pledges to match donations to the United Way Thunder Bay RECOVER 2020 campaign up to another $10,000.

Thunder Bay, ON, Tuesday December 2, 2020 – The United Way of Thunder Bay raised $22,440,00 on Show Your Local Love Day, it announced this morning. The total is more than DOUBLE the $10,000 goal set yesterday morning for the Tbaytel matching challenge.

The outpouring of local love donations has now inspired another Thunder Bay business to come forward to help the United Way further close the estimated $300,000 funding gap from cancelled events in 2020. Today, Intercity Industrial Supply Ltd has now pledged to match public donations for another $10,000, extending Show Your Local Love Day until Friday.

As a result of the global pandemic, Intercity Industrial Supply will not be hosting the company’s annual holiday party. Instead, the company has decided to use the funds allocated for the festivities and kick in some additional funds to match public donations to the United Way of Thunder Bay.

Says Craig Urquhart, President of Intercity Industrial Supply, “On behalf of our caring and concerned customers, we are pleased to help the United Way. We hope to inspire other local businesses to consider contributing what they can to help support the needs of individuals and families in our community who have been disproportionately affected by the pandemic.”

Intercity Industrial Supply Ltd is also challenging other local businesses that can afford it to consider donating their unused holiday party budgets to harness goodwill and help the United Way Thunder Bay bridge the 2020 campaign shortfall.

Donations made until Friday December 4, 2020 will be matched by Intercity Industrial Supply up to $10,000. Donate at: uwaytbay.ca
