PJP Students Support United Way
In late October students from Pope John Paul II School hosted a battery drive at Thunder Bay Auto Parts. In addition to helping to make our environment cleaner, they also made this into a fundraising event. For every motor vehicle battery donated, Thunder Bay Auto Parts gave $3 to the student's efforts to support the United Way. At the end of the event, Thunder Bay Auto Parts doubled their donation. The students collected more than 5500 batteries – which amazed the company that recycles them!
Representing Class 8-9 students Brooklyn Chicorli, Madisyn Caccamo, and Chyniel McWatch presented United Way President Jules Tupker with a cheque for $250. (Missing from photo was Reece Jolicoure).Proudly looking on was their teacher Maria Racco with Michael Racco of Thunder Bay Auto Parts.
