My Day of Caring Experience

This year, The 4th Annual GenNext Day of Caring, presented by Bombardier, takes place on Saturday June 20, 2015. As a volunteer, this event has affected me in many positive ways and I encourage you to get involved too!

The United Way of Thunder Bay’s GenNext Day of Caring connects volunteers with projects across the community that otherwise wouldn’t be completed. The focus of this event is to leave your wallet at home, and to donate your time and skills.

There are many events within our community that simply ask for money, but this event asks volunteers to give up our time once a year to help those in need with hands on support. Some of the past projects include building an arbour, painting, planting, landscaping, and building an herb garden.

United Way of Thunder Bay is leading the way to a better community by improving the quality of life for all local people. By collaborating with community partners, we are leading the way to addressing social issues in our community and investing in three critical areas: Poverty, Kids and Strong Communities. Donations to the United Way are strategically invested across Thunder Bay to many vital programs and initiatives in these areas, creating a social safety net that works to achieve lasting change for our neighbours, families and friends.
