Day of Caring 2017

On Saturday, June 17th nearly 130 volunteers left their wallets at home, and donated their TIME, pulled up their sleeves, and got their hands dirty all while helping our community!

United Way’s GenNext Cabinet was excited to hold the 6th Annual Day of Caring presented by Bombardier Transportation! This one-day event was held at 12 not-for-profits throughout the city, where our enthusiastic teams of volunteers completed hands-on projects. Building, painting, planting gardens, and spring cleaning were just a few of the fun projects we did.

Unlike many other volunteer opportunities, the Day of Caring is a single day commitment where participants team up, work together, and leave at the end of day with the sense of accomplishment from completing a distinct project - all while learning more about the United Way the invaluable services and these local organizations provide in our community.

Thank you to everyone that came out to take part in this great event - we hope that you had as much fun as we did!

United Way of Thunder Bay is leading the way to a better community by improving the quality of life for all local people. By collaborating with community partners, we are leading the way to addressing social issues in our community and investing in three critical areas: Poverty, Kids and Strong Communities. Donations to the United Way are strategically invested across Thunder Bay to many vital programs and initiatives in these areas, creating a social safety net that works to achieve lasting change for our neighbours, families and friends.
