2nd Annual Wasaya - United Way Plane Pull

 Why fly a plane when you can pull one? 

The United Way of Thunder Bay and Wasaya Airways is proud to announce the return of the 2nd Annual Wasaya – United Way Plane Pull on Saturday, September 23rd in support of The United Way of Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario Aboriginal Youth Achievement and Recognition Awards!!

Sign up for the 2nd Annual Wasaya - United Way Plane Pull on September 23rd from 10am to 3:30pm with a group of 6-8 individuals to race to pull a plane weighing MORE THAN 26,000 lbs. a total distance of 50 feet in the fastest time to win! Each team can have up to 8 members. However, only 6 can pull the plane at a time. You can rotate team members out for different pulls. Each team will have three turns to pull the plane. There will be three rounds and each team will pull once each round. After round three, all times will be added up.

We will then create 3 divisions (top 6 teams, middle 6 teams, bottom 6 teams) and the top two teams in each division will have a pull off for the Plane Pull Championship Title in each division

Fox on the Run will be on location selling food and drink items to hungry participants and family/ friends watching. Each team will also receive a complimentary lunch. 

Prizes will be awarded for:

Plane Pull Champion Team – Division 1 (Dash 8 Team)

Plane Pull Champion Team – Division 2 (Hawker Team)

Plane Pull Champion Team – Division 3 (Caravan Team)

Top Fundraising Team

Top Fundraising Individual

Most Spirited Team

REGISTRATION DETAILS:                                      

Pre-Registration: Open to last years teams June 22nd - July 11th

Registration: Open to the public July 11th 

Registration fee is $25 per member with a team commitment to fundraise $500 or more!  

Minimum Age for registration is 14.

Space is limited to the first 18 teams.
